Story
Greater Mt. Calvary Baptist Church was officially established in March 2026 through the historic and prayerful merger of three longstanding congregations: Greater Twelfth Missionary Baptist Church, Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, and Calvary Tremont Baptist Church. Each ministry carried a rich legacy of worship, community service, discipleship, and unwavering faith, serving generations throughout Columbus, Ohio with dedication and spiritual impact. United by a shared vision for the future and a desire to strengthen Kingdom work, these congregations came together to form one church body committed to advancing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The merger represented more than the joining of churches — it marked the beginning of a new season of unity, growth, and renewed purpose. With deep respect for the history and traditions of each congregation, Greater Mt. Calvary Baptist Church was formed to preserve the strong spiritual foundations laid by faithful leaders and members while embracing a forward-thinking vision for ministry in today’s world. Through prayer, collaboration, and faith in God’s direction, the church emerged as a symbol of unity, resilience, and transformational ministry.
Since its formation, Greater Mt. Calvary Baptist Church has remained committed to worship that is Christ-centered, preaching that is biblically grounded, and outreach that impacts both the spiritual and practical needs of the community.
