OUR

Story

Greater Mt. Calvary Baptist Church is a vibrant, Christ-centered ministry with a heart for people and a mission to share the love, hope, and transforming power of Jesus Christ throughout our community and beyond. Rooted in faith, worship, and service, our church is committed to creating an atmosphere where individuals and families from every generation can grow spiritually, build meaningful relationships, and experience the presence of God in a life-changing way.

At Greater Mt. Calvary, outreach is more than a ministry — it is part of who we are. We believe the Church should be active in meeting the spiritual, emotional, and practical needs of the community through compassion, encouragement, discipleship, and service. Through worship experiences, community engagement, youth and family ministries, and opportunities for personal growth, we strive to make a lasting impact while pointing people toward Christ.

Whether you are new to faith, searching for a church home, or looking to deepen your relationship with God, Greater Mt. Calvary Baptist Church is a place where you can connect, belong, and thrive. We invite you to worship with us, grow with us, and be a part of what God is doing through our ministry.

ARTICLES OF FAITH

The Bible is our all-sufficient foundation for faith and practice, guiding us in truth, unity, and Christian living as we stand together in fellowship, proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and uphold the essential principles of God’s Word as the center of our ministry and daily walk with Him.

I Cor. 1:10; Acts 2:42).

THE ONE TRUE GOD

There is one true and living God, the Creator of heaven and earth, eternally self existent as three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – each of whom possesses equally all the attributes of deity and characteristics of personality

Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 43:10, 11; Matthew 28:19, 20; Luke 3:22

THE HOLY SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit reveals and glorifies Jesus Christ,
draws people to salvation, and empowers believers
to live holy lives through His presence and power.
He equips the Church with spiritual gifts to serve and advance God’s Kingdom.

Galatians 5:16-26; Romans 12:3-9; I Corinthians 12:1-31).

THE SALVATION OF MAN

The Holy Spirit reveals and glorifies Jesus Christ,
draws people to salvation, and empowers believers
to live holy lives through His presence and power.
He equips the Church with spiritual gifts to serve and advance God’s Kingdom.

Galatians 5:16-26; Romans 12:3-9; I Corinthians 12:1-31).

THE FALL OF MAN

Man was created in the image of God but fell into sin through disobedience, bringing separation from God and a sinful nature upon humanity, making redemption and renewal through Jesus Christ necessary for salvation.

Genesis 1:26, 27; 2:17; 3:6; Romans 3:23; 5:12-19

WHAT WE BELIEVE

OUR DOCTRINE

THE INSPIRIATION OF SCRIPTURE

We believe that the scriptures, both the Old and the New Testament, are uniquely and fully inspired by the Holy Spirit and serves as the supreme and final authority in all matters in which it speaks.

II Timothy 3:15-17; I Thessalonians 2:13; II Peter 1:21).

JESUS CHRIST

Jesus Christ is God incarnate who was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose again with all power and glory. He ascended into heaven as our Savior and mediator and will one day return to establish His Kingdom and give eternal life to all who believe in Him.

Acts 1:11; I Corinthians 15:51; Hebrews 9:28;

THE ORDINANCES OF THE CHURCH

We believe in the ordinances of Baptism and Holy Communion as sacred acts that symbolize salvation, spiritual renewal, fellowship with Christ, and the remembrance of His death, resurrection, and return.

Matthew 28:19, 20; Acts 8:26-38

SANCTIFICATION

Sanctification is the process of being set apart from sin and dedicated to God, as believers grow in holiness through the power of the Holy Spirit, obedience to God’s Word, prayer, worship, and fellowship with other believers.

Genesis 1:26, 27; 2:17; 3:6; Romans 3:23; 5:12-19

THE CHURCH

The Church is the body of Christ, led by Jesus and empowered by the Holy Spirit, existing to worship God, disciple believers, serve others, strengthen Christian fellowship, and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world.

Acts 2:41-47
